Drake Breaks R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Record

Drake has become the artist with the most No. 1 albums on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.

His album Habibti gives him his 18th chart-topper, moving him ahead of The Temptations and Future.

The Temptations, the Motown group behind hits such as 1964's My Girl and 1971's Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me), had held or shared the record since July 1966.

Habibti, which came out in May, climbed back to No. 1 after the release of its Habibti (FOMO) deluxe edition, which added four new tracks to the original 11-song track list.

The album peaked at No. 2 on the overall US Billboard 200 and reached No. 7 on the UK Albums Chart.

Future and The Temptations sit in second place with 17 R&B/hip-hop No. 1s each, followed by Jay-Z with 14, Kanye West (now known as Ye) with 13, and R. Kelly with 12.

Drake has said he will head out on a world tour in 2027, and there is also talk of a possible headline set at the Coachella Festival in April next year.
