Katseye members welcome Sophia Laforteza back

Katseye have spoken warmly about Sophia Laforteza coming back to the group. The singer had announced a temporary break from the girl group two months earlier to look after her mental health and wellness, and her bandmates have now shared how they feel about her planned return in January.

"We are so happy that she's coming back," Lara Raj told E! News at the 2026 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show on Sunday night. She performed at the event with Megan Skiendiel, Yoonchae Jeong and Daniela Avanzini.

"We're so proud of her. She's really been so brave," Lara added. "We respect her so much for taking the space and taking time for her health. She's our sister, so we can't wait for her to come back."

The Gabriela singers are getting ready to welcome Laforteza back to the stage now that their Wildworld Tour has wrapped up.

A statement from HYBE x Geffen Records on 8 October said: "We are happy to share that Sophia will resume group activities with Katseye beginning the first week of January 2027. Sophia has been prioritising her health and well-being with our full support and resources."

Skiendiel also reflected on the bond within the group. "We've been through so much together, and we've built such a family together," she said. "Being able to go through this journey with my sisters has just been the best experience of my life."

The news follows a separate break taken by fellow member Manon Bannerman, who announced her own hiatus in February. No date has been given for her return.
